Typing fun for all the family

This is a fun typing skills program wrapped in a medieval game adventure and suitable for all the family. For beginners, the program takes you through the basics, and for those looking to improve skills, you can skip ahead to the letters youre not so good at. The medieval quests and adventures keep the instruction interesting and its always clear how far along in the program you are. Overall a great combination of instruction, fun, and pacing. The program downloaded and installed for me without any problems.

Recommended!

I am a total novice typist, but am really enjoying Typing Tournament – I seem to be getting the hang of it quickly. I have successfully completed 2 levels so far and it has been fun and easy to work through. I would recommend this app for anyone who would like to improve their typing skills.

good fun while learning

Tis is an excellent way to learn to type and is fun too. Easy to use and you can learn at your own pace. This is an excellent product.

Pretty Good!

I installed this last night only on it for a minute. This morning my ten year old went bonkers! Its fun and easy for kids to learn and FUN! I will write more if I see Bugs/Problems. So far, nab it for the $4 bucks before the price jumps. Worth it!

Good Program

Teaches the basics of typing in a fun way.

piece of crap crashes

dont bother the thing wont even start! want my money back

It works

This typing tutor is easy to use, fun, and certainly teaches typing! There are a few small bugs the developer should look into fixing tho: 1) On some levels the third drill does not go past the second screen 2) Sometimes there are issues starting up on snow leopard where the app may get hidden behind another running application or start with a black screen I also suggest that in a future release the app add a windowed mode so that it doesnt change resolutions to run in full screen.

Would Not Recommend

I am very disappointed with this application. I was looking for something that Would improve accuracy in typing numbers and Punctuations. Not worth the money. I think Mavis maybe more expensive but worth the price. You can download free typing lessons that are 100 % better that this application.

Its fun and helpful

For an adult wanting to improve his typing skills the only thing to get past is the cheesiness of the interface. But since it is not geared towards adults necessarily that complaint in not valid. I think it is a great little app for improving your typing skills and the games are helpful and adds a little action to what can be a mundane activity.

Typing Tournament V2

Never learned to type and I am 38 years old, but I am learning with this app very quikly. It take you step by step starting from the home row.

Troublesome but kind of ok, when it works.

Just installed this today and there have been several bugs that make it hard to enjoy. Right off the bat, it would not let us enter a name in the login screen. I went to the admin screen and entered the name there but when you go back out you still cant see the names on the screeen where they are supposed to be. Eventually we started clicking all around the blank screen and we must have hit something b/c it let us go on. Then the program ran fairly smooth for a while. Until it didnt. Around lesson 3 or so we hit a snag and the screen started flashing. After that point we could get to the main menu but couldnt quit. Having learned earlier that the help screen pulls the program into a window, we did that and then quit through the dock. Im not sure why it is so hard to create a program that just works. Id rather have fewer sparkles if it would mean the program would actually work.

Not a bad typing tutor

It is a good typing tutor, but it is very buggy. It is always messing up my other open apps. Really annoying. If it worked without the bugs, it would be perfect.

Does not work on snow lepord

All I get on launch now is a black screen. I have uninstalled and deleted all the plist files. Still can not get past the blank screen. This app is unusable. When it did launch for me, I wondering how Apple approved it. It was completely unintuative to use. My daughter (10) whom I purchased this for was unable to get it started and load her profile even after I got it started for her. I had a hard time finding out how to load the profile and finally found that I just had to click in the right blank spot. This is the worst edu geared app I have ever used....

Fun but cant enter name....

This seems like a fun and useful game. My 8 year old was enjoying it, but since it wont allow you to enter your name in the login screen none of her progress gets saved. This needs to be fixed ASAP. Dont buy it until they fix this bug!

Not as educational as stated

App is not worthy of the price. Poor set up and navigation buttons. Not very organized. Very scattered program.

Great app

Helps improve typing speed. Sure you have to navigate a little - its a kids app - but for the promo price I paid it was well worth it, Not as sophisticated as Mavis Beacon - but some features are nicer. In some of the early levels you cant get further unless you type the correct letter. Helps with accuracy.

Best Typing App

This is the best typing app. Its worth the money, the free ones are just a waste of time. Not like others, this one allows backspace to correct your mistakes to improve accuracy. By following the course, Ive improved my typing speed with correct finger positions. Its clear how far along the program you are, only 4 courses away for me to become a 32wpm typist.

Impressive Typing Tutorial Program

I am impressed by this program. It loses a star because goals and times cant be adjusted without owning the teacher version of the game. 97% accuracy for the final test on level one is too high. Also, the warm up and activity layout could be less cluttered. That said, I think that young students will enjoy the program.

very helpfull app

I would suggest this app for those younger people, because it is better to learn to type at a younger age. It also makes it fun to do it at the same time !!!!

Helpful Typing Tutor for Children

I bought this for my 2nd grade daughter, and she has taken to it. I can see her typing improving on a daily basis. It is definitely geared towards elementary children. It would seem to childish for older children, although the exercises are well designed to improve your typing skillls.
